This report reflects the results of a case-study research done by Danilo G. Lapid, Christopher C. Ancheta and Theresa J. Villareal, commissioned by WASTE, the executing agency of the UWEP programme. Similar researches on the topic of composting were undertaken in Egypt, Nepal and India. It gives attention on small and microenterprises, community involvement and their invaluable role in urban waste management.

This publication forms a picture of the role the various stakeholders play in urban waste management.
