Recently, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGIS) re-established their commitment to the second phase of our Financial Inclusion Improves Sanitation & Health (FINISH) Mondial programme, where we will further scale-up the successful public-private partnership model with our partners Amref Flying Doctors and Aqua for All. The programme utilizes the Diamond Approach, working toward both healthier and economically empowered communities.
In the coming year, the FINISH Mondial programme will receive an additional € 4.1 million in funding. We are extremely proud of the confidence that DGIS has in our work.
Earlier this year, we celebrated the milestone of the programme realizing the construction of over 1 million safe sanitation systems, benefiting more than 5 million people across 6 countries in East Africa and South Asia! Other milestone achievements of FINISH so far include:
Josien Sluijs, Managing Director at Aqua for All notes, “We aim to facilitate sustainable access to safe water and sanitation by supporting innovations and scalable solutions. FINISH Mondial shows how connecting relevant stakeholders and working in strong partnerships brings us closer to our goal: safe sanitation for all by 2030! The support we receive from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs brings us closer to our common goal.”
With the continuous support, track record of success and strengthened partnerships, we are already working hard to continue scaling FINISH from its humble beginnings in India and Kenya, into its (already booming) 6-country expansion, the second phase of which is forecasted to continue growing until at least 2025.
