Background

WASTE is an international development organisation based in the Hague, specialized in urban and peri-urban sanitation and faecal sludge management, solid waste management (including plastics recycling), and innovative financing in low- and middle-income countries. WASTE has a solid base of more than 35 years of experience and has an extensive network in Asia and Africa. WASTE manages a multi-million-euro portfolio focusing on value chain improvements in sanitation and waste management—setting up systems that supports local governments, small and medium sized businesses, financial institutions, and community initiatives.

WASTE is seeking an Administration Assistant to assist in the organisation’s administrative tasks.

 

Job Description

The administration assistant is responsible for a broad package of administrational and general support tasks. You work together with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of our FINISH Mondial programme and with WASTE’s Management Assistant. In both roles you assist in administration, secretarial and general support which includes wide variety of tasks.

 

Tasks

In close collaboration with our FINISH Mondial programme’s COO

  • Support our FINISH Mondial programme’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) with editing, reviewing, and documentation of documents
  • Assist in IATI[1] reporting
  • Prepare and document meetings
  • Planning of (international)events
  • Any other task as may be mutually agreed with the supervisor

 

In close collaboration with WASTE’s Management Assistant

  • Process invoices and declarations
  • Assist in HR administration
  • Prepare and document meetings
  • Any other task as may be mutually agreed with the supervisor

 

Your knowledge, experience, and competence

  • You have relevant work experience in an administrative and/or secretarial role.
  • You are careful, analytical, result-oriented, a team player, solution-oriented and decisive with an eye for organizational development.
  • You have good social and communication skills in English and Dutch.

Salary

Salary indication scale 5 between €35,735-€43,000 gross per annum on full-time basis (36 hours per week), including holiday allowance and end of year bonus).

 

Duration

  • Starting date: as soon as possible
  • Contract for one year, with possibility of extension

 

Location

Applicants must reside in the Netherlands and be in possession of a valid Dutch work permit. Should be able to travel to office in the Hague when necessary.
