We’re proud to announce that WASTE has officially signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the The Pan-African Association of Sanitation Actors (APAA/PASA) and the The African Water and Sanitation Association (AfWASA) during World Water Week 2025.

This marks a major step forward in our shared mission: accelerating and sustaining improvements in water supply and sanitation services across Africa.

Our work at WASTE is deeply rooted in local contexts. By co-creating inclusive, climate-resilient, and economically empowering systems, we aim to support African countries in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) by 2030 — a critical goal for health and unlocking progress in many other areas. These partnerships will help drive the implementation of financing policies and guidelines that make water and sanitation services accessible and sustainable for all.

More specifically our joint focus will include:

  • Strengthening operator capacity
  • Addressing liquidity challenges
  • Sharing knowledge and learnings
  • Exploring fundraising and innovative financing opportunities
  • Engaging stakeholders and collaborating with microfinance institutions

Together, we’re not just signing MoUs — we’re committing to long-term impact across the continent.
